এই বইতে রয়েছে পঞ্চাশ রকমের মোট ৫০টি প্রবন্ধ। বিভিন্ন নামিদামি দৈনিক, সাপ্তাহিক, পাক্ষিক এবং মাসিক পত্রিকায় এগুলি প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল। কোনও কোনও প্রবন্ধের বিষয় অত্যন্ত জটিল হলেও সহজ সরল ঝরঝরে ভাষায় লেখার গুণে প্রবন্ধগুলি প্রাণবন্ত হয়ে উঠেছে। কী নেই এখানে? উত্তমকুমারকে নিয়ে প্রথম টিভি সিরিয়ালের কথা যেমন আছে, আছে ‘গুণীদের নির্ভেজাল চায়ের আড্ডা’। আছে ‘শিবরাত্রি মোটেই মেয়েলি ব্রত নয়’, ‘শাড়ির পাড় ছিঁড়ে শ্রীকৃষ্ণের তর্জনীতে দ্রৌপদীর বেঁধে দেওয়াটাই ছিল রাখি বন্ধনের সূচনা’। বাদ যায়নি ‘প্রথম জীবনে ট্যাক্সি চালাতেন‌ বিধানচন্দ্র রায়’, ‘রহস্যময় ভয়নিচ পাণ্ডুলিপি: যে বই এখনও পড়তে পারেননি কেউ’। রয়েছে সত্যজিৎ রায়কে নিয়ে একান্ত ব্যক্তিগত স্মৃতিচারণা ‘মানিক জেঠু বরাদ্দ করে দিয়েছিলেন মাসে ছ’শো টাকা’। রয়েছে— নারীই ‘দি বস’। ‘নাস্তিক জ্যোতি বসু একমাত্র লোকনাথ বাবাকেই মানতেন’। দু’মলাটের মধ্যে এত বিচিত্র সব বিষয় নিয়ে লেখা প্রবন্ধের বই সম্ভবত এই প্রথম।

সময়ের স্রোতে নাম দিয়ে প্রকাশ করতে চলেছি আমার দ্বিতীয় গল্পসংকলন। এই সংকলনে স্থান পেয়েছে ছোটো বড়ো মোট একুশটি গল্প। সাহিত্যের কাজই হচ্ছে জীবনের রসায়ন খুঁজে বের করা।

স্কুল, অফিস আর বাড়ি এই তিনটি প্রতিষ্ঠান একে অপরের সঙ্গে এক সূক্ষ্ম সুতোয় বাঁধা থাকে। এবারের বইটিতে আমি এই তিনটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের সম্বন্ধে লিখেছি। পাঠকের ভাল লাগার অপেক্ষায় রইলাম।

এই বইয়ের বেশির ভাগ কবিতা আঠারো থেকে বাইশ বছর বয়েসের মধ্যে লেখা। নব্বইয়ের দশকে কবিতা পড়া ও লেখার একটা চল ছিল- অনেক কবিতা সেই সময়ের। তাই কবিতায় সেই সময়ের কবিদের প্রভাব থাকা অস্বাভাবিক নয়। প্রেমের কবিতা সংখ্যায় বেশী আর সেগুলো বিভিন্ন আঙ্গিকে ও বিভিন্ন দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে লেখা, কোথাও সহজ সরল প্রেম কোথাও স্বপ্ন কোথাও শরীর- আবার সব মিলেমিশে একাকার হয়ে গিয়েছে কোথাও। এছাড়াও অনেক কবিতাতে বয়েসের হতাশা, স্মৃতিমেদুর বিকেল ও একলা পথ চলার কষ্টের কথা ফুটে ওঠে। পথ চলার সাথে দৃশ্য বদল, আর সেই বদলের মধ্যে নিজেকে খুঁজে পাওয়া- এই নিয়ে যে জীবন চলেছে, এই বইয়ের কবিতাগুলো তারই দলিল মাত্র।

পিঙ্কিকে পাত্রপক্ষ বাতিল করে পড়াশোনায় তার মধ্যম-মানের কারণে। পিঙ্কির প্রেমিক শুভায়ুও তাকে ছেড়ে চলে গেছিল পিঙ্কির মধ্যবিত্ত মানসিকতার কারণে। এমনকি তার পিসিমণিও তাকে তার উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষাহীন জীবনের জন্য তিরস্কার করে। পিঙ্কি ছোটবেলায় মাকে হারিয়েছে। বাবা আর অবিবাহিত পিসিমণির কাছেই মানুষ। ওনারা দুজনেই কৰ্মজীবনে সফল। ওদের সফলতার আলোকবৰ্তিকার নীচেই পিঙ্কির একাকিত্বের অন্ধকার। তবু সে আত্মনিৰ্ভর হতে চায়। ভালোবাসার সম্পৰ্কে জড়াতে চায়। সম্পৰ্কে সমান অংশীদারি চায় সে। এমন সময়ে তার আলাপ হয় অভিরাজের সঙ্গে। অকালে বাবাকে হারিয়ে অভিরাজের সামনে এক কঠোর বাস্তব। অনেক দায়িত্ব তার। পিঙ্কি অভিরাজকে ভালোবেসে ফেলে। দায়িত্ব ভাগ করে নিতে চায়। এরমধ্যেই শুভায়ু ফিরে আসে ঝলমলে জীবনের স্বপ্ন নিয়ে। অন্যদিকে পিঙ্কির পিসিমণি বীণার জীবনে ঘটে এক আশ্চৰ্য ঘটনা। বহুকাল পরে শিবশঙ্করের সঙ্গে দেখা হয় এক অদ্ভুত পরিস্থিতিতে। জীবনের এতগুলো বছর পেরিয়ে বীণা খুঁজে পায় তার ভালোবাসার মানুষকে। পিঙ্কি কি খুঁজে পাবে সেই অরূপরতন?

ক’ মাস পেরোলে চল্লিশে পা দেবো।২০০৭ এ ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং শেষ করে Wipro তে ক্যাম্পাস ইন্টার্ভিউতে পাওয়া চাকরি আজও করে যাচ্ছি। চাকরি সূত্রে নানান দেশ, মানুষ, তাদের সংস্কৃতির সাথে পরিচিত হওয়ার সুযোগ হয়েছে। লেখালিখির ঝোক সেই ২০০০ সাল থেকেই। তবে বই ছাপানোর কোনোদিনই পরিকল্পনা ছিল না। কলেজে আমার লেখা কবিতা নিয়ে বন্ধুরা তাদের গার্লফ্রেন্ডদের মন পাওয়ার চেষ্টা করতো, এক আধটা লেখা ওয়াল ম্যাগাজিনে উঠতো, আমি তাতেই সন্তুষ্ট থেকেছি। কিছু স্মৃতিচারণ একান্ত ব্যক্তিগত হলেও এটা ছাপানোর তাগিদ টা অন্য জায়গা থেকে। লেখা টা লিখতে লিখতে মনে হলো এটা শুধু মাত্র বাবার আর আমার কথা নয়- এটা যেন আমাদের প্রজন্মের ‘৯০ আর ২০০০ এর দশকে বড় হয়ে ওঠার ভীষণ আদরের একটা মন্তাজ। তাই এই বই ‘স্মৃতিকথা (Memoirs)’ ‘A dad-son saga’ শুধু নয়, বরং ‘An ode to the ’90s’ ও বিলক্ষণ।

আমার এই লেখা মূলতঃ কিশোর-কিশোরীদের জন্য। এই সময় মন নানাবিধ যৌক্তিক ও অযৌক্তিক ভাবনায় মুখর হয়ে থাকে। তাদের সেই ভাবনার জগৎকে আর একটু প্রসারিত করে, তাদের মনের নরম ডানাগুলিকে কল্পনার রঙিন জগতে ভাসিয়ে দেওয়াই আমার এই লেখার একমাত্র উদ্দেশ্য।যদি একজন পাঠক-পাঠিকাকেও আমার এই লেখা কিঞ্চিৎ আনন্দ দিতে পারে, মনের মধ্যে যে কল্পনার মহাবিশ্ব অন্তর্নিহিত আছে, তার দরজায় কড়া নাড়তে পারে তাহলেই আমি বুঝবো আমার লেখনী ধরা সর্বমাত্রায় সার্থক। ইহাই হৰে আমার আগামীদিনের পাথেয়।

Author is an Engineering graduate and an MBA; and working in a PSU as Manager for eleven years. Born and brought up in Naihati, author comes from a humble middle class family. His parents are retired teachers; and author is a proud father of a 7 year old Girl. Writing from imagery and creating unique characters, have been a long standing hobby for the author, from the college days. Father being a poet and story-writer by hobby, helped the author with conducive ambience of harboring talent in literary field. An avid follower of deduction/ thriller based stories and novels, he published his first book– ‘Four Deductions’, a book of five thriller stories and introduced the charismatic character of Arryaman Khare. The book was published from White Falcon Publishing House of Gurgaon and is available in known online platforms. One collection of poems has also been published in the name of ‘Lady with the Red Clip’, from White Falcon. Later one Kindle version of poetry ‘Distractions’ has been published. A Bengali book of eight stories has also been published in the name of ‘Raamdhanu o aro ekti’. Author is deeply influenced by the Buddhist philosophy and believes that, the world around us is not how we perceive; and that one has to keep on doing good work in his own way.

As an Indian, I felt bound to write this book. Nowadays, a global effect in few senses are good as well as quite bad in affecting the political principles. India is neither democracy nor a sociocracy. As a matter of fact, no system is working properly in this world. Now the cards should be reshuffled in search of a new policy. A new policy is the content of this book. Hope, readers will read and try to appreciate the feelings inherent in the author’s dream and torment. ফুল যেমন শুকিয়ে যায়, ঠিক তেমন-ই একদিন অন্তরের ছবি মুছে যাবে।
কবি তার ভাষায় ও প্রকাশে ওই অন্তরের ছবি মুছে যাওয়ার আগে সকলের সামনে আয়না তুলে ধরতে চায়।

গোয়েন্দা অফিসার চরণের ডায়েরির পাতা থেকে তুলে আনা তিনটি ঘটনা নিয়ে রচিত এই উপন্যাস৷ তিনটি ঘটনাই ঘটেছিল তার ব্যক্তিগত পরিসরে – একটি তার ভাবী জীবনসঙ্গীনীর পরিবারে, এবং অন্য দুটি তার পরিচিতজনের মধ্যে৷ তিনটি ঘটনাতেই সে তার ষষ্ঠ ইন্দ্রীয় ও পেশাগত দক্ষতায় অল্প কয়েকদিনের মধ্যে পৌঁছে গিয়েছিল অপরাধের মূলে এবং প্রাণ বিপন্নকারী পরিস্থিতির মোকাবিলা করে সফল হয়েছিল আসল অপরাধীকে পাকড়াও করতে৷ উপন্যাসত্রয়ীর শিহরন জাগানো ঘটনাবলি আদ্যোপান্ত বিমুগ্ধ করে রাখবে পাঠক-পাঠিকাদের, সেই সঙ্গে তারা গোয়েন্দা অফিসার চরণের অপরাধের রহস্য উন্মোচনে সঙ্গী হয়ে উঠবেন৷

কারও কারও কাছে দামাল জীবনের দাঁড়িপাল্লায় কাজ আর চেষ্টাকে ব্যালান্স করে চলার ফলই হল ভাগ্য।
আবার কারও দাঁড়িপাল্লায় ভাগ্য আর চেষ্টার ভারসাম্যকে পিষে তবে পাওয়া যায় পেড়ে পাওয়া চোদ্দোয়ানা কর্মফল।
কারও-বা কপালে জীবন-নিক্তির একদিকে নিষ্ঠা অন্যদিকে নিষ্ঠুর নিয়তি দুইয়ে মিলে ভাগ্যকে শত ক্রোশ দূরে ঠেলে দিয়ে, তাকে আমৃত্যু পোড়ামাটির প্রমাণ দিতে হয় পথ চলার প্রতি পদে পদে!
কিন্তু শুধুমাত্র ভাগ্যকে ভবিতব্য না ভেবে, টানাপোড়েনের জীবনে ভাঙাগড়ার খেলাকে মেনে নিয়ে মুহুর্মুহু মোকাবিলা করার আর এক নামই বোধহয় এই উপন্যাস 'অভাগিনীর ভাগ্য'।
ঔপন্যাসিক মায়া চৌধুরী পরম মমতায় দুই মলাটের মধ্যে 'অভাগিনীর ভাগ্য'কে বেঁধেছেন স্বচ্ছ, সরল, স্বাভাবিক শব্দের সাহসে!

সমান্তরালে অঞ্জলি, বিমল, রুপা, দীনেশ, বিজলি, বিনয় চরিত্রগুলির চলাফেরা যেন শত শতাংশ প্রাত্যহিক জীবনেরই চালচিত্র।
মায়া চৌধুরীর সৃষ্টির শামিয়ানায় 'অভাগিনীর ভাগ্য' হয়ে উঠেছে অবচেতনে সংরক্ষণযোগ্য জীবন্ত দলিল।

সব সৃষ্টিরই একটা উদ্দেশ্য থাকে— তা সে যাই হোক কবিতা, নাটক কিংবা শিল্পকলা। সবারই লক্ষ্য এক— মন ও মননকে ছুঁয়ে যাওয়া, সত্য ও সুন্দরকে খুঁজে বের করা। ‘ধূসর বিকেল’-এর কবিতাগুলির মধ্যে দিয়ে মানুষের সুপ্ত অনুভূতি ও চেতনার জগতে ঘা দিয়ে তুলে আনার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে সেই চিরন্তন মানবিকতাকে যা দিয়ে গড়া যাবে অন্যায়-অবিচার আর আবিলতাহীন এক সুন্দর সমাজ। ধূসর বিকেলের পর আবার যেন ফিরে আসে একটা নির্মল ঝলমলে সকাল।

শ্রুতিমধুর স্বরবৈচিত্রই কাব্যগ্রন্থের শেষ কথা নয়। পাঠকদের মনে বিষয়ের পূর্ণ অর্থবোধ ও উপলব্ধির গভীরতার পরিতৃপ্তিদানেই কবিতা লেখা সার্থক হয়ে ওঠে। ‘শেষের দিনে’ কাব্যগ্রন্থে ফুটিয়ে তোলা হয়েছে তারই একক রূপরেখা। মানুষ জন্মগতভাবে বড় একা। পরিস্থিতি এবং সময়ের কাছে মানুষ চিরকালই পরাজিত‌। ছিন্ন-ভিন্ন কিছু বাস্তব জীবনের সুখ-দুঃখ, হাসি-কান্না, আবেগ-অনুভূতি; বর্তমান সমাজের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি, আদব-কায়দা... অন্ধকারের স্নেহময় গর্ভ থেকে তুলে আনা এমনই কিছু টুকরো অনুভূতি ও উপলব্ধি নিয়ে তৈরি এই কাব্যগ্রন্থ।
একটা অন্ধকার রাত্রির পর যেমন সূর্য উদিত হয় ঠিক তেমনি জীবনে ঘটে যাওয়া অধ্যায়গুলির সমাপ্তির প্রাঙ্গণে নতুনত্বের শুরু। কিছু গল্পের সমাপ্তিটা ভাষায় প্রকাশ করা সত্যিই অসম্ভব তবে শেষের থেকে কোনও কিছুর নতুনত্ব দিয়ে জীবন শুরু করার আহ্লাদটা সত্যিই একটা বড় পাওয়া, সব কিছু শেষ হলেও শেষমেষ হাসিমুখটা একান্তই নিজের। গদ্যে কিংবা পদ্যে সবকিছুর মধ্যেই এক নতুনত্বের আলোড়ন থাকে। জীবনের চলার পথে অনেক কিছু করা কঠিন হয়ে ওঠে তবে অসম্ভব কোনও কিছুই না। সবুজ ঘাসের ওপর শিশির বিন্দু যেমন সকালের প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যকে প্রাণবন্ত ও মুগ্ধ করে তোলে, ঠিক তেমনি জীবনের গল্পটা হোক অন্যের মুগ্ধতা ও ভালোবাসাকে কেন্দ্র করে।

1970s to 1990s had been sheer embarrassment of riches producing an array of great players and very significant first-time events. From Kerry Packer revolution, Coloured Clothing, Night Cricket, White Ball, One Day Tournaments including World cup, Neutral Umpires, Ban and return of South Africa, introduction of new cricketing nations, rise of the subcontinental Nations as Cricketing superpowers etc. All these need to be embalmed and treasured up in memory shelves for the present and future generations to come. Videos for some of the matches in the aforesaid period may be available with selected cricket lovers but it was felt essential to put in a narrative which can reside in the public domain and delight the true cricket lovers worldwide. পৃথিবীতে আজও এমন অনেক অসম্ভব ও অলৌকিক ঘটনা ঘটে, বুদ্ধিতে যার কোনও ব্যাখ্যাই পাওয়া যায় না। বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক কোনও মানুষ তা হয়তো বিশ্বাসও করে না। কিন্তু এই গল্পগ্রন্থে স্থান পাওয়া গল্পগুলি মন দিয়ে পড়লে এটাই বোঝা যায় যে, মৃত্যুর পরেও সব কিছু একেবারে শেষ হয়ে যায় না। এই নশ্বর পৃথিবী থেকে বিদায় নেবার পূর্বে মানুষের মনে যে অপূর্ণ আশা-আকাঙ্ক্ষা, মায়া-মমতা, ভালোবাসা, রাগ ও বিদ্বেষ জমা হয়ে থাকে, মৃত্যু পরবর্তী সময়ে অবিনশ্বর আত্মা চায় কোনওভাবে তাকে পূর্ণতা দিতে। তখনই সৃষ্টি হয়, ভৌতিক ও অলৌকিক ঘটনার। এই “কৌশিকী অমাবস্যা” গল্প সংকলনে আছে লেখকের নিজের জীবনে ঘটে যাওয়া এবং চেনা-পরিচিতদের কাছে শোনা কিছু ভৌতিক ও অলৌকিক ঘটনা যা পড়লে ছোটো থেকে বড়ো সব বয়সি পাঠকই রোমাঞ্চে শিহরিত হয়ে উঠবে, আর তার সঙ্গে যদি থাকে ভয়ের অনুকূল পরিবেশ, তাহলে তো কথাই নেই!!

‘প্রেম’ই বোধহয় প্রকৃতির আদিতম শব্দ। গভীর, বর্ণময়, বিচিত্রগতি। সে রিক্ত হয়ে কাঁদায়, মুক্ত হয়ে হাসায়। প্রেম অমৃতময়, মৃত্যুহীন। এ হলো ভোরের শিশিরে ঝরে পড়া এমনই তিনটি শিউলি ফুলের গল্প। প্রথমজন সতী। পুঁচকে সতীর খেলার সাথী ছোট্ট পিনাকী। খুনসুটি, ঝগড়ার দুষ্টুমিষ্টি মিতালি। খেলাচ্ছলেই ওদের শুভদৃষ্টির নীরব মহরত হয়। শৈশব একদিন হারায় যৌবনের উচ্ছাসে। মনের উঠোনে পাহারার পাঁচিল ওঠে। রোদ-জোছনা ভাগ হয়ে যায়। হঠাৎ ঝড় ওঠে, ছিটকে যায় দু’জন। বহুকাল কেটে যায়। প্রেম ফেরে ছদ্মবেশে, মৃত্যুকে ডিঙিয়ে। দ্বিতীয়জন কৃষ্ণপ্রিয়া। উদ্দাম, বাঁধনহারা পাহাড়ি ঝরনা। প্রথম যৌবনের স্বপ্ন বড় বেইমান, প্রাণঘাতী। সেই স্বপ্নের জোয়ারে ভেসে প্রেমের চোরাবালিতে হারায় সে। তলিয়ে যায় সমাজের পচা পাঁকে। মুছে যায় পরিচয়, মায়ের আশ্রয়, তুলসিতলার ছোট্ট উঠোন। শুরু হয় যৌনপল্লির খুপরিতে নরকজীবন। ছিকলি বাঁধা পায়ে হঠাৎ ভাড়ার উড়ান। প্রকাশ্য যৌনাচারের দায়ে জোটে হাজতবাস। তারপর? তৃতীয়জন যমুনাদেবী। দাপুটে ভূমিহারের মেয়ে হয়েও নারীত্বে, প্রেমে অন্যন্যা। বুদ্ধ অনুরাগী অধ্যাপককে বিয়ে করেন ভালবেসে। দগ্ধ মাতৃভূমি, ক্লিষ্ট মানুষের সেবাই হয়ে ওঠে প্রেমধর্ম। ক্ষমাহীন ঘৃণা তাঁকেও ছেড়ে কথা বলে না।

কবিতা শব্দটির অর্থ কবিকর্ম বা কবিকৃত গদ‍্যময় বা পদ‍্যময় গ্রন্থ। কবিতার আলোচনার প্রসঙ্গে ‘কাব‍্য’ শীর্ষক প্রবন্ধে রবীন্দ্রনাথ বলেছেন যে কাব‍্যরস-ই কবিতার বিশেষত্ব। আমার বর্তমান কাব‍্যগ্রন্থে আপনজনের আন্তরিক প্রেরণার ফলস্বরূপ যে ঐকান্তিক আনন্দ পেয়েছি, সেই আনন্দের ঝর্না ধারার উৎস থেকে আমার কাব‍্যগ্রন্থের কবিতাগুলো আপন মহিমায় উৎসারিত হয়েছে। আমার এই কাঁচা হাতের লেখনীর মাধ‍্যমে কাব‍্যগ্রন্থে যা প্রতিফলিত হয়েছে তা নিতান্তই আমার অপরিণত বোধের অদক্ষ প্রকাশ। এরমধ‍্যে কোনও উচ্চতর গূঢ় চিন্তা ও কল্পনার সমন্বয় ঘটেনি। ইহার অধিকাংশ কবিতাই প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য বিষয়ক বর্ণনা। ইহা আমার মরমী মনের কল্পনাবিন‍্যাস বা একান্ত ভাবেই আমার প্রাণের কথা।

Thermoluminescence (TL) which is the emission of light as a result of heating a pre-irradiated semiconductor or insulator has found wide application in dating, dosimetry and defect studies of solids. The book consists of five chapters beginning with a historical introduction to TL and a brief discussion on the overall luminescence phenomenon. The book deals with different methods of analysis of TL process to extract the relevant trapping parameters using different models of TL based on the band theory of solids. A new method of analysis of TL process based on the skewness of TL curve has been developed. The book can be used effectively by established TL investigators and new students taking up TL research.

জানার মধ্যেও অজানা, অস্বীকারের মাধ্যমে স্বীকার, না চাওয়ার ভণিতায় চাওয়া, নিরাশার ভয় আশা যার নাম ভালোবাসা। সেই অজানা, অস্বীকার, চাওয়া, নিরাশা পাঠিকা ও পাঠকদের কাছে তুলে ধরতে চাই। আশা করি, কবিতাগুলো পড়ে পাঠককুল তাদের অতীত ও বর্তমানের চেতনাকে উপলব্ধি করবে।

অতিমারির সময় অতিক্রম করে ক্রমশ স্বাভাবিক হচ্ছে জনজীবন, মানুষ ফিরে পাচ্ছে নতুন করে বাঁচার ইচ্ছে। বসন্ত এসেছে দুয়ারে, ফুটেছে পলাশ, চারিদিক রঙিন, সেই রঙের ছোঁয়ায় আমাদের মনে নতুন করে প্র্রেমের ছোঁয়া লেগেছে। নতুন যৌবন দুলে উঠেছে প্রেমের অমোঘ আকর্ষণে, কবির মনও আনচান কৃষ্ণচূড়া, পলাশ, শিমুলের রাঙানো বসন্তে, হিংসা দূরে সরিয়ে রেখে প্রেমের সঞ্চার হোক সকল মানুষের জীবনে সেই আশা নিয়ে নির্ময় সরকারের এই কাব্যগ্রন্থ। আশা করি পাঠকের হৃদয়ে স্থান করে নেবে “যৌবনের সুবর্ণরেখা”।

সমস্ত পৃথ্বী জুড়ে প্রাণের অস্তিত্বে বাঁচা সমস্ত প্রাণীকুলের প্রাণ-মন বা মস্তিষ্কের গভীরে যার মূল্য সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তা হল ‘আমি’ বা সেই ‘আমির’ জীবন। সেই জীবন জোড়া আমির মধ্যে যে আমিত্বের আবেগবোধ বা আবেগের আমিত্ব তাই চির সত্য হয়ে ধরা দেয় বারে বারে। জীবনস্রোতের সেই সত্য উদ্যানে প্রস্ফুটিত এক একটি ভাবাবেগের পুষ্প। তারই রূপ-রস-গন্ধ-স্পর্শ জুড়ে সাজানো জীবন বোধের এই ছন্দমালা—কবিতার বই। সমস্তের মধ্যে কিয়দংশের প্রকাশ এই বই। পাঠকগণের ভালোলাগার সাথে সাথে তারাও যে নিজের জীবনের সাথে এই অনুভূতির মিল খুঁজে পাবে, তা বলা বাহুল্য।

বিভিন্ন ধরনের প্রতিকূল ঘটনা আমাদের ক্রমাগত আঘাত করে চলেছে। টিকে থাকার লড়াই আজ আমাদের সামনে অনেক বেশি প্রকট হয়ে উঠেছে। আমার ব্যক্তিগত মতামত হল এই যে, যেকোনও খারাপ সময়ই হল নিজেকে তৈরি করার, নিজেকে মেলে ধরার প্রকৃষ্ট সময়। পরিবর্তিত পরিস্থিতিতে নিত্যনতুন প্রশ্নের উত্তর খোঁজার তাগিদ থেকেই সৃষ্টি হয়েছে এই গ্রন্থ পরিবেশনা। আমার প্রথম বই ‘প্রয়াস’ প্রকাশিত হওয়ার পর থেকেই বিভিন্ন পাঠক ও পাঠিকাদের পক্ষ থেকে বিভিন্ন ধরনের সমসাময়িক প্রশ্ন আমার কাছে হাজির হতে থাকে। নির্বাচিত বেশ কিছু প্রাসঙ্গিক, আকর্ষণীয় এবং গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রশ্ন ও তার উত্তর (আমার মতামত অনুযায়ী) এই পুস্তকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। পরিবর্তিত পরিস্থিতিতে টিকে থাকার জন্য ‘ধৈর্য’, ‘ভুল’, ‘মানসিক বুদ্ধি’, এবং ‘মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য’ ইত্যাদি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়ের উপর যথাযথ আলোচনা করা হয়েছে। বিভিন্ন ধরনের ‘সম্ভাবনা’-এর সম্ভাব্য উত্তর আমার ক্ষমতামতো এবং পছন্দমতো তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করেছি। এই ধরনের সম্ভাবনাগুলির মধ্যে ‘ভবিষ্যতে ভালো থাকার সম্ভাবনা’, ব্যবসায় প্রতিষ্ঠিত হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা’, সন্তানের উচ্চশিক্ষার সম্ভাবনা’, ইত্যাদি বিষয়ের উপর আলোচনা করা হয়েছে। এছাড়াও কর্পোরেট কাউন্সেলিং, হাস্যরস, মানসিক বুদ্ধি, নীরবতা, ক্যাল্কুলেটেড রিস্ক ইত্যাদি কিছু প্রাসঙ্গিক, আকর্ষণীয় এবং সমসাময়িক বিষয়ের উপর আলোকপাত করা হয়েছে। উপরোক্ত বিষয়গুলি প্রশ্ন-উত্তরের আকারে বিভিন্ন প্রকার অনুমান এবং পেশাগত জীবন থেকে সংগৃহীত তথ্যের উপর নির্ভর করে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।

এই গ্রন্থের সব কবিতাই ছন্দের ও বেশিরভাগ কবিতাই নির্দিষ্ট ছক মেলানো চৌকো কবিতা, অর্থাৎ যেই কবিতায় পংক্তি ও পদসংখ্যা সমান (যেমন- অষ্টপদী, দশপদী, একাদশপদী, দ্বাদশপদী, চতুর্দশপদী, পঞ্চদশপদী, ষোড়শপদী ইত্যাদি)। মোট ২৫টি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন স্বাদের কবিতা রয়েছে এই গ্রন্থে; বিজ্ঞান ও পরিবেশের কিছু মূলসূত্র, ভ্রমণ, ফ্যান্টাসি, বন্ধুত্ব, গ্রামের পরিবেশ, জীবনে সাফল্যের সূত্র, আপামর বাঙালির কিছু ভালোবাসার জায়গা, ভৌতিক ও রহস্য কাব্য কাহিনি তারমধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য। এই গ্রন্থটি শুধুমাত্র কবিতার বই না বলে প্রবন্ধমূলক কাব্যগ্রন্থ বলা ভালো। প্রতিটি কবিতার সাথেই তার পটভূমি ও ব্যাখ্যা নিয়ে একটি নাতিদীর্ঘ অনুচ্ছেদ সংযুক্ত করা হয়েছে।

পেশায় চিকিৎসক হওয়ার সুবাদে জীবন আর মৃত্যুকে ছুঁয়ে দেখেছি খুব খুব কাছ থেকে। পাঞ্জা লড়তে হয়েছে মৃত্যুর সাথে জীবনের সবকিছু বাজি রেখে, এমনকি খুব কাছের প্রিয়জনকে দূরে সরিয়ে। নিছক কর্তব্যের খাতিরে নয়, চিকিৎসক হিসেবে নেওয়া শপথের দায়বদ্ধতায়। কখনও জিতেছি আমি আবার হেরেও গেছি বহুবার, প্রাণপণ চেষ্টা করেও। প্রবোধ দিয়েছি স্বজন হারার কাঁধে হাত রেখে বা বুকে টেনে নিয়ে। কিন্তু সূক্ষ্ণ অনুভূতিরা যেন ভোঁতা হয়েছে জীবনমৃত্যুর টানাপোড়েনে, অজান্তেই। জেতার আনন্দ বা পরাজয়ের গ্লানি যেন ধীরে ধীরে কেমন একটা যন্ত্রের মতো ঠাঁই নিয়েছিলো মাথার সব কোষ গুলোতে। আমিও যে আর পাঁচটা মানুষের মতো ভাবতে পারি বা পারিপার্শ্বিক ঘটনাবলী যে আমাকেও নাড়া দেয় সমানভাবে, সবার মতো, এটা প্রায় ভুলতেই বসেছিলাম। তাই হঠাৎই একদিন মনের কাছে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম একান্তেই, আমার কৈশোরের বা যৌবনের সব সত্তা কি হারিয়ে গেছে, মরে গেছে কি আমার সংবেদনশীল অনুভূতি! মন বলল না না, আছে এখনও চাপা, বুকের মাঝে। হাতড়ে দেখো, ঠিক পাবে তুমি। সেই শুরু হাতড়ে দেখার। যা পেলাম, সেগুলোকেই চেষ্টা করলাম কিছু শব্দের বাঁধনে বাঁধতে, কবিতার ছন্দে। অন্য হারিয়ে যাওয়া সত্তাটাকে ফিরে পাওয়ার আনন্দে।

এই গল্পের নায়ক ঋভু বিয়ের পাকাদেখা করতে তার মামারবাড়ি খড়গপুরে যায়। সে আমেরিকায় থাকে, ইঞ্জিনিয়ার। আর ক’দিন পরেই ওখানকার স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা হয়ে যাবে। অন্যদিকে গল্পের নায়িকা রঞ্জু সদ্য গ্র্যাজুয়েশন করেছে। সে একজন উদীয়মান নৃত্যশিল্পী। পরীক্ষার পরে সে বন্ধু তুহিনার সাথে ওদের বাড়ি যাচ্ছে বেড়াতে। পথে ঋভু আর রঞ্জুর দেখা হয়। দুই বিপরীতগামী গ্রহ কোনও এক মহাজাগতিক ষড়যন্ত্রে একই কক্ষপথে এসে জুড়ে যায়। ট্রেনের সেই ক্ষণিকের দেখা আর আলাপ কী প্রেমের উপাখ্যান হয়ে ধরা দেবে নাকি মুহূর্তযাপন হয়েই রয়ে যাবে ওদের জীবনে ? ঋভু-রঞ্জুর জীবনের এই অনুপম আখ্যানই ‘পাকাদেখার’-র উপজীব্য।

জীবনের আঁকাবাঁকা চলার পথে প্রচুর চরিত্রেরা আশেপাশে ভিড় জমায়। তার মধ্যে আছে – ভালো, মন্দ, আনন্দ, দুঃখ, কৌতুক, মহত্ব, ঔদার্য, বন্ধুবৎসলতা, অনুকম্পা ইত্যাদি ইত্যাদি। সবার মাঝেই এইগুলো বিরাজ করে। আসলে প্রত্যেকটা চরিত্রেই অনেকগুলো খোলস থাকে। একেকটা এক এক রকম। কিছু খোলস নিয়ে সব সময় গল্প লেখা যায়, মানে সব চরিত্রই গল্প লেখার যোগ্য।
সেই সব চরিত্ররাই লেখনীর গুণে আরো জীবন্ত হয়ে উঠেছে।

একেবারে শৈশব থেকেই পুরুষকে শেখানো হয় – “ছিঃ ছেলেরা কখনও কাঁদে? না ছেলেদের কখনও কাঁদতে নেই।” যেন পুরুষের দুঃখবোধ থাকাটা পৌরুষের অপমান।

পেশায় চিকিৎসক হওয়ার সুবাদে জীবন আর মৃত্যুকে ছুঁয়ে দেখেছেন খুব খুব কাছ থেকে। পাঞ্জা লড়তে হয়েছে মৃত্যুর সাথে জীবনের সবকিছু বাজি রেখে, এমনকি খুব কাছের প্রিয়জনকে দূরে সরিয়ে। নিছক কর্তব্যের খাতিরে নয়, চিকিৎসক হিসেবে নেওয়া শপথের দায়বদ্ধতায়। কখনো জয় এসেছে আবার কখনো হার মানতে হয়েছে প্রাণপণ চেষ্টা করেও। এইসব কিছুর মাঝে কোথাও যেন সূক্ষ অনুভূতিগুলো চাপা পড়ে যায়। চিকিৎসক সত্ত্বার পাশাপাশি একটি কবি সত্ত্বাও তো আছে, সেই সত্ত্বাই জানান দেয় আপাত ভোঁতা হয়ে যাওয়া মনের গহীনে আজও কোমল সংবেদনশীল "মন" যত্নে লালিত। সেই সংবেদনশীল অনুভূতিই নিপুণ বুননে কবিতা হয়ে ওঠেছে।
